Accomodation has been provided at Hotel Lutécia (Av. Frei Miguel
Contreiras, 52, 1749-086 Lisbon, Tel: +351 - 21 840 31 21), for those
who requested so.
Getting there. From the airport, I suggest you take a
taxi; you should pay no more than EUR 6 (before getting in the car,
ask the driver for an approximate fare; there is an extra EUR 1.5 for
having your luggage in the trunk). If you are the kind of person that
hate surprises, use the fixed-price pre-paid taxi service. The
counter is just outside the arrival gate at the tourist information
kiosk in the middle of the hall. They work out the price, then they
take you out to the taxi rank and give a form to the driver.
The meeting is at Complexo
Interdisciplinar, at the corner of Avenida Gama Pinto with Avenida
das Forças Armadas (map, jpg, 98
kBytes), room B2.01. To get there, I suggest two alternatives:
- Underground: three stations, one connection, time about 9
min. Leave the hotel to left, get to Avenida de Roma, walk right,
direction Alvalade, 200m. At Roma, take Linha Caravela, direction
Campo Grande. Connect at Campo Grande, take Linha Girasol, direction
Rato. Get off at Cidade Universitária. Once at the surface, walk 5
min along Av. Gama Pinto, away from the Rectory, direction Av. Forças
Armadas. Take the left side of the avenue, along a parking lot under
the trees. Enter the gate on your left, just before the large
intersection, enter the main buiding in front-right.
- Walk: 20 min, I expect. Leave the hotel to left, get to Avenida
de Roma, walk right, direction Alvalade. Turn left at the first large
intersection. You should be now walking down Avenida Estados Unidos
da América. Get to the Entre Campos, a large square, statue in the
center. Continue on the same direction, this time up Avenida das
Forças Armadas. At the top turn right, you will be at Avenida Gama
Pinto. Get through the first gate on your right, enter the main
buiding in front-right.
Lunchs take place at the same buiding, first floor.
